Dr. Joshua M. Purow joined Cardiology Associates of Ft. Lauderdale in 2004 and practices both general and interventional cardiology.
He received his undergraduate education at Yeshiva University and received his Medical Degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York in 1997.
Dr. Purow completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the New York University Medical Center in New York City. He then continued his training at the University of Miami Medical Center where he completed his Cardiology Fellowship. He served as the Chief Fellow and was awarded the Harry Botwick Memorial Award for Superior Performance as a Cardiology Fellow in 2004.
Dr. Purow is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is fully accomplished in all invasive and interventional techniques including diagnostic coronary angiography, balloon angioplasty, coronary stenting, intravascular ultrasound, thrombectomy and intracoronary pressure measurements. He also performs peripheral artery angiography and interventions for those with peripheral artery disease.
Dr. Purowis a member of various professional organizations and is presently a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Purow has published numerous medical papers in peer-review journals and has remained active in clinical research. In addition, he is a member of various hospital committees. His areas of interest include clinical and general cardiology, coronary artery disease and interventional cardiology. He is an active member of the Holy Cross Vascular Research Institute and is participating in novel research with myocardial stem cells.
Joshua Purow, MD has been a Florida resident since 2000. He now enjoys South Florida with his wife and four children.
