Joshua M. Larned, M.D.

Dr. Larned joined Cardiology Associates of Ft. Lauderdale in July of 2008 and practices general cardiology with an additional focus in congestive heart failure.

He performed his undergraduate education at Davidson College and graduated with a degree in history in 1994. He received his medical degree from Tufts University in 2001. He completed his internal medicine internship at Emory University in 2002, internal medicine residency at Emory University in 2004, and then served as internal medicine Chief Resident at Emory University from 2004-2005. He subsequently completed his general cardiology fellowship at Emory University in June 2008 and spent his final year of training pursuing an additional fellowship in advanced heart failure.

Dr. Larned is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease in addition to Internal Medicine. He has completed additional Level 2 training in nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT.

Dr. Larned has a clinical interest in disease management programs to care for patients with congestive heart failure. He has additional interests and training in diagnostic cardiac catheterization, endomyocardial biopsy, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and carotid ultrasound.

Dr. Larned is a member of numerous medical organizations including the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Failure Society of America, the American Society of Transplantation, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the Southern Medical Association. He is also an inductee into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Larned remains active in clinical research and has published literature in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. He has presented at national and regional meetings upon the subject of congestive heart failure.

Dr. Larned has been married to a local gastroenterologist since 2003. They have currently two children and enjoy spending their free time with their family and outdoors whenever possible.
