Vicente E. Font, M.D. received his undergraduate education from the University of Maryland and his medical degree (magna cum laude) from Universidad Central Del Caribe School of Medicine, Puerto Rico, in 1985.
Dr. Font trained at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease.
Following completion of his post-graduate training, Dr. Font joined the Department of Cardiology at Cleveland Clinic Florida as Attending Physician. During his tenure there, he directed the Section of Echocardiography and Stress Testing Laboratory, and maintained dual appointment in the Division of Education & Research.
Dr. Font is Board certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is Board certified in Echocardiography as well as Level 1 and 2 certification in Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. Dr. Font is a member of various professional organizations and is presently a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Font has published numerous medical papers in peer-review journals and has remained active in clinical research. He has received several achievement awards and has been recognized by various institutions. He is a member of various hospital committees and currently is President of Cardiology Associates of Fort Lauderdale, P.A.
His areas of interest include clinical and general cardiology, valvular and coronary disease, congestive heart failure, general and transesophageal echocardiography, pericardial as well as congenital heart disease.
Dr. Font was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and was raised in Puerto Rico. He has been a Florida resident since 1991. Dr. Font is married with three children and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
