Celso Acevedo , MD received his undergraduate education from the University of Puerto Rico and his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1996.

Dr. Acevedo trained at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease. He then attended the University of Louisville in Kentucky where he performed his subspecialized training in Cardiac Electrophysiology.

Following completion of his post-graduate training, Dr. Acevedo became a Staff Cardiac Electrophysiologist and Assistant Professor at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was awarded the “Teacher of the Year” award by the Fellowship program. He was also recognized by his patients and was awarded the “Golden Touch Award” at AGH for patient satisfaction.

Dr. Acevedo is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is a member of various professional organizations and is presently a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Acevedo has remained active in clinical research and has received several achievement awards and was also recognized by patients and staff at Holy Cross Hospital as the “Outstanding Physician” in 2007.

His areas of interest include device therapy for heart failure, ablative therapy for arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, and the role of echocardiography in cardiac resynchronization.

Dr. Acevedo was born in New York City and was raised in Puerto Rico. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
